Il cantiere della Corea del Sud STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. prenderà parte alla costruzione di un cantiere navale sul Mar Caspio. Ad annunciarlo è Newskaz.ru che riporta un comunicato della Kazakhstan Engineering National Company. In occasione del Kadex-2012, mostra internazionale di armamenti tenutasi ad Astana, è stato firmato un accordo bilaterale tra la Kazakhstan Engineering appunto, e la Stx Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. E’ anche prevista la creazione di un apposito gruppo di lavoro per lanciare e gestire i nuovi progetti di collaborazione. La Kazakhstan Engineering è una holding che a far data dall’aprile del 2010, è gestita dal Ministero della Difesa. La Stx Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. è una società che si occupa prevalentemente della progettazione e costruzione di navi cisterna, navi portacontainer, gasiere, portarinfuse , metaniere, navi da crociera, traghetti e impianti offshore. On the sidelines of the KADEX-2012 international weaponry exhibition in Astana Kazakhstan Engineering and STX Offshore & Shipbuilding Co., Ltd. signed an MoU. The sides intend to consider joint projects such as construction of a shipyard at the Caspian Sea shore and modernization of one of the current shipyards, involving transfer of South Korea’s shipbuilding technology. A special working group is to be launched to work out recommendations on possible projects.
