La compagnia Texana di sicurezza marittima Espada Logistics and Security-MENA ha annunciato di aver acquistato cinque nuove imbarcazioni veloci ed armate,in aggiunta a quelle già presenti nell’area del Golfo di Aden, per fare fronte alla crescente richiesta da parte degli armatori di servizi di protezione e scorta in seguito all’incremento del numero degli attacchi,da parte dei pirati, che si sono avuti nell’area. Parlando del piano di acquisizione di nuove unità il presidente della Espada ,Jim Jorrie, ha detto : "I nostri clienti esigono informazioni più puntuali per quel che concerne costi e programmazione ed è divenuto chiaro che l'unico modo per soddisfare tali esigenze è quello di acquisire nuove unità”.
"L’aumento del numero di unità ci consentirà anche di estendere la nostra area di scorta al di là del Golfo di Aden includendo la costa orientale dell'Africa, giù fino a Mombasa.
La Società è dell’avviso che il ricorso a scorte concorre a diminuire gli attacchi dei pirati più di ogni altro metodo.

SAN ANTONIO - (Business Wire) Espada Logistics and Security-MENA (www.espadaservices.com) has acquired five additional armed, fast-patrol vessels for use in the Gulf of Aden due to increased piracy and the growing demand for protection services.
“Our customers have demanded a higher level of predictability when it comes to costs and scheduling, and it became clear that the only way to meet those demands was to acquire additional vessels,” Jim Jorrie, president of Espada Logistics and Security-MENA, said.
